How Canto happened
01The tool

It started as our own tool.

Half the lab's meetings happen in Bosnian. The notetakers we tried would politely butcher them and charge us in euros for it. At some point it was easier to build our own.

02The research

This is where the lab comes in.

Speech and language is one of the two fields this lab works in, with a bias toward the languages most software skips. Canto is where that research ends up. On independent benchmarks its transcription makes fewer errors than any other notetaker on the market, and you do not have to take our word for it: the measurement is public and anyone can rerun it.
